Project summary and reflection

 

In the three projects, I encountered a lot of problems respectively.

Textile is the first project, this is a project of my idea will be secondary innovation of plastic bag, but I met a big problem is the plastic bag is not in industrial sewing machines, this promoted great difficulty for me, I need to sew all my samples by hand stitching together. And because I wanted to use needle and thread to make the pattern of vegetables and fruits, I spent a lot of time and energy on how to knit and sew each pattern.

The second project is laser cutting. In this project, the biggest difficulty is connection. How to connect each piece of cardboard so that they can have firm bearing capacity and connection without using glue and other connecting liquids. It took a lot of drawing and testing to get the final sample. In this process, I need to accurately calculate the specific length, width and height of each piece of cardboard, and even the specific radian size, so as to successfully connect each piece of cardboard together without gaps.

At the beginning of the third project is ceramic, in making and did the senior communication of this project, I learned about this is a project's the most difficult time, because the production cycle is only three weeks, I must be in the three weeks, in the face of ceramic firing might crack, dry process might crack, and if not satisfied unlikely modify effect, and so on. Therefore, I need to determine my inspiration and sketch at the beginning of the production and cannot change it, which is a great challenge for me who likes to revise and improve constantly during the project. In order to prevent accidents in firing, I can only draw two design drawings for molding firing to prevent accidents.

In these three project, I learned a lot, the first is about the use of each material appliance, followed by thinking and decision, I understand that the design is a process rather than a result, we are in the process of production for each project to get the most conform to rethink and redesign our hearts the expected results, this is the design should be in some sense.
